Mullins effect and payne effect
WebPayne effect and its associated weak overshoot are of importance for understanding and regulating the softening of rubber nanocomposites under large amplitude oscillations. ... Stress softening (Mullins effect) is observed in gum natural rubber vulcanizates. The magnitude of this softening is similar to that in carbon black-filled vulcanizates. WebThe Payne effect depends on the filler content of the material and vanishes for unfilled elastomers. A large amount of work in theoretical interpretation of the experimental …
Mullins effect and payne effect
Did you know?
The Payne effect is a particular feature of the stress–strain behaviour of rubber, especially rubber compounds containing fillers such as carbon black. It is named after the British rubber scientist A. R. Payne, who made extensive studies of the effect (e.g., Payne 1962). The effect is sometimes also known as the Fletcher-Gent effect, after the authors of the first study of the phenomenon (Fletcher & Gent 1953). Web5 mar. 2014 · A Mullins indicator, in term of the maximum loading forces over the accumulated residual deflections over the loading-unloading cycles, is proposed for a criterion to evaluate the Mullins...
WebMullins’ effect Natural rubber exhibits unique physical and chemical properties.Rubbers stress-strain behavior exhibits the Mullins effect and the Payne effect. It strain crystallizes.Under repeated tensile strain, many filler reinforced rubbers exhibit a reduction in stress after the initial extension, and this is the so-called Mullins Effect which is … Web4 nov. 2024 · Payne effect and its associated weak overshoot are of importance for understanding and regulating the softening of rubber nanocomposites under large amplitude oscillations. WebThe Payne effect is an amplitude dependent soften - ing phenomenon. It is characterized by a decrease in the storage modulus with increasing strain amplitude by cycling loading [5].
Webcontacts that are percolated throughout the material – is the main cause for the Payne effect. However, the polymer matrix does play a secondary role as demonstrated by a reduction in Payne effect magnitude with increasing temperature for the CB-reinforced rubber, which was not observed to a significant extent for the oil-CB system. sm64 horror rom hacksWeb1 iun. 2009 · The Mullins effect is the most studied phenomenon in filled elastomers.
