Despite being dominated by genetics, the mechanism underlying the variation of HC is poorly understood. WebHead circumference normally enlarges by approximately 1 mm/day between 26 weeks of gestation and 32 weeks, and about 0.7 mm/day between 32 and 40 weeks.10 We regard a persistent increase of 2 mm/day as excessive.
