Fhwa adaptive signal control
WebAdaptive signal control technology (ASCT) systems are designed to respond (adapt) to real-time traffic demand and patterns to provide more efficient and safer operation at signalized intersections. The adaptive systems are relatively new in the United States and sporadically are deployed in various parts of the country. WebSeveral types of technologies are available to detect vehicles requesting preemption , and include the use of light (strobe), sound (siren), pavement loops, radio transmission, and push buttons approaching an intersection, to request immediate service (green indication from the signal).
