WebSep 29, 2013 · For the same reason that a traditional Heatsink and Fan has the fan push the air through the fins of the heatsink, you want the fan to push through the radiator. Pulling through the radiator is only efficient if you have enough force already pushing through from the other side (such as using fans on both sides). For example, a 360mm radiator is designed to work with three 120mm fans along 1 side (3 x 120 = 360), and a 280mm radiator is designed to work with two 140mm fans along 1 side (2 x 140 = 280). WebGenerally no. The rads used on AIOs are generally thin with fairly low fin density. Since they're fairly low impedance, going to a push-pull fan setup doesn't do much for you, as that's primarily used to overcome flow impedance issues. "Push/Pull" will usually add a bit of performance but takes a lot more room to do RIGHT- using shrouds on both sides. Push/Pull helps with a MAX performance system because it gets more air through than a fan on only one side.
